André Thierry

André Thierry was born into Louisiana Creole heritage in Richmond, California, where family dances and church gatherings planted the seeds of zydeco music early in his life. By the age of 12, he had formed his first band, Zydeco Magic, and was already winning acclaim as a self-taught accordion prodigy.

Over the years, Thierry has grown into a cultural bridge: innovating with new sounds while honoring his roots. His discography includes It’s About Time!, A Whole Lotta Somethin’, and Are You Ready to Learn. He has earned multiple West Coast Blues Hall of Fame awards and a Grammy nomination, while international audiences have embraced his groundbreaking performances — including as the first American artist featured at Germany’s Akkordeonale Festival.

In this Studio 91 session, Thierry transforms tradition into something vibrant and new. Expect grooves that move, melodies that lift, and the unmistakable soul of an artist at the peak of his craft.

🎶 Tune in to Studio 91 – Episode 2: André Thierry and experience accordion soul live from the Vinyl Vault.
