Ghosts In the Machine. Now you see it, Now you don't!

That’s not a line from a sci-fi movie. That’s what prepping Episode 013 of Your Daily AI felt like.

This Wednesday’s show is all about the strange, glitchy reality of working with AI tools, including a few very real moments where the machine seemed to forget what it just did.

🔄 The Silent Upgrade to GPT-4.1

We got the heads-up mid-session:

"You're now using a newer version of ChatGPT."

No release notes. No changelog. Just a quiet model shift... and suddenly, the AI was suggesting two completely different paths forward , Which was kind of like a cool "choose your own adventure" vibe, on a concept we were exploring. It was intriguing. A little eerie. And something we’d never seen before.

🕳️ The Vanishing Conversation

At one point, we created a whole conversation thread, complete with a title and working ideas… only to find it completely blank when we returned. It existed... until it didn’t.

🖼️ The Missing Promo Image

We generated a square graphic for Episode 013. It appeared. It uploaded. We confirmed it.But when we went to download it from the library?

Gone.

No file. No log. No crash.Just one more ghost in the machine.
