Funky Friday Episode 90: Oaktown Funk brings our American funk city tour home to Oakland. From Sly & The Family Stone and Tower of Power to the Pointer Sisters, Digital Underground, MC Hammer, and contemporary funksters The Grease Traps, we celebrate the city's unmistakable groove and the musicians who helped shape it. Ten episodes. Nine cities. One homecoming.

Funky Friday hits a milestone with Episode 30 — the Dirty 30. This set rumbles like a late-night train ride: James Brown’s Hot Pants, Rick James’ Super Freak, and deep cuts like Rock Creek Park fuel a graffiti-splattered journey through raw, underground funk.
